Kolb Husked
Recently Andy Reid head coach of the Eagles announced that he has changed his mind and will be starting Mike Vick over Kevin Kolb. This seemed to be for only week three however Reid has said he did it because he wants Vick as the starter for the rest of the season. This is the right move in my opinion. If someone goes down with an injury, suspension or something else, and the next person to take over shows something special, i.e. Mike Vick in week 2, then he should continue to play or at least until there is a reason someone (Reid) shouldn't start him. It would be one thing if Vick had a poor outing but when someone with his caliber of skill and the damage he can do on the field, you have to stick with him. How do you feel about this situation with Vick as the starter the rest of the season?

First of all Reid is one of the worst coaches in the NFL and vick as the starter the rest of the year; i say yes. Vick should be the starter because Kolb isnt that great of a quarterback anyway. Vick gives them a better chance to win because he is a more mobile QB and is now becoming a better throwing QB as the season goes on. So, Vick starting is the right call.
ReplyDeleteSince Andy Reid began his coaching career with The Philadelphia Eagles in 1999, he has been the type of coach who sticks with his starting quarterback. From 1999-2009, Donavan McNabb was the starting quarterback for the eagles no matter how he played during the games. McNabb led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl appearance in 2004, but his time in Philadelphia ended without a championship. McNabb had his share of injuries during his time in Philadelphia, but when he was available to play, Reid started him no matter what kind of streak the other quarterback was on. When Reid announced Tuesday that Michael Vick would be the new starting quarter back for the Eagles, I was taken by surprise. This move was the first time that Reid changed his starting quarterback during his coaching career with the Eagles. Although Kevin Kolb is a good quarterback, Michael Vick fits the Eagles “run and gun” offense much better than him. With Vick under center for the Eagles, Philadelphia once again will be a contender in the toughest division in the NFL, the NFC East. Sunday will bring forth a new era for the Philadelphia Eagles and this era will be known as the Vick Era.
